Kids Art Display

A kids art display is a slim magnetic strip that mounts flush to the wall and holds your child’s artwork with magnets, so new pieces go up in seconds. Ours come in 18”, 23”, 35” and 46” lengths and five finishes, hold standard printer and construction paper, and are made in our shop in Nacogdoches, Texas. Shipping is free on every order.

When the fridge runs out of room

It starts with one drawing on the fridge. Then the side of the fridge, then the counter, then a drawer you stop opening. You’re not going to throw it away, so it needs somewhere to go. A kids artwork display on the wall turns the pile into a small gallery that looks like it belongs there, and makes room for whatever comes home tomorrow.

Before and after: kids art cluttering a refrigerator, then hung neatly on magnetic art display bars

“These are so cute! And perfect for getting art off the fridge. Super easy to install by myself.”
— Barbara E.

How a magnetic art display works

The display mounts flat against the wall, and each one comes with 9 colorful push-pin style magnets. Set a drawing against the display, press a magnet over it, and it stays. To change the art, pull the magnet, swap the paper and press it back. No clips to pry open, no frames to unscrew and no tape on the paint.

Kids can change it themselves, which is half the point. One customer told us her kids “were excited to hang up their art themselves.” If you have little ones under 6, hang the display above their reach instead, because the magnets are small. More on magnet safety.

Choosing a kids art display for the wall

Measure the widest thing you’ll hang, then pick the length that gives it a little room on each side. Every length is 1.5” tall.

18” holds one sheet of school paper (9x12), or two pieces of printer paper side by side in portrait. Good over a desk, a nightstand or a narrow spot between doors.

23” holds one sheet of construction paper (12x18), or two pieces of printer paper side by side in landscape. The hallway size.

35” holds two 12x18 sheets side by side, or three pieces of printer paper in landscape. It fills the wall above a couch or a playroom table.

46” holds three 12x18 sheets, or four pieces of printer paper in landscape. This is the one people stack two or three high for a gallery wall.

Not sure? Go one size up. Extra room is never the thing people regret.

“Such a great way to display children’s artwork. The scallops are so cute.”
— Lindsey J.

Hanging it

Screws and drywall anchors come in the box, color-matched to your finish, and you don’t need to find a stud. Prefer not to drill? Even the longest display weighs under a pound, so adhesive picture-hanging strips work well too, and many of our customers choose them. Step by step in our guide: how to hang kids artwork.

For grandparents, too

Plenty of our displays go to grandparents’ houses, so the grandkids walk in and see their work on the wall. It also makes an easy gift for a new parent or grandparent: one size, one finish, and the hardware is in the box.

“I wanted a way to display our grandkids artwork so they could actively see that we treasure their efforts/them and these strips were perfect!”

Frequently asked questions

What is the best way to display kids artwork on the wall?

A magnetic display mounted on the wall is the simplest option. It holds paper without tape, pins or frames, and you can swap in new artwork in seconds. Pick a length that fits the pieces your child brings home most, and stack two or three displays for a gallery wall.

How many drawings fit on one display?

It depends on the length. An 18-inch display holds one 9x12 sheet or two pieces of printer paper in portrait. A 23-inch holds one 12x18 sheet or two printer pages in landscape. A 35-inch holds two 12x18 sheets or three printer pages, and a 46-inch holds three 12x18 sheets or four printer pages.

Do I need to drill holes to hang it?

No. Screws and drywall anchors are included if you want them, and you don't need a stud. Every size weighs under a pound, so adhesive picture-hanging strips (not included) also work well and leave no holes. Many customers prefer strips.

Will the magnets hold construction paper?

Yes. The included magnets hold standard printer paper and construction paper. Very large or thick pieces are the exception; for cardstock or heavily painted pieces, use two or three magnets.

Is it safe for toddlers?

The display has no sharp edges, but the magnets are small and strong and are a choking hazard. Keep magnets away from children under 6 and hang the display above their reach. If you think a child has swallowed a magnet, go to an emergency room right away.

How fast does it ship?

Shipping is free on every order with no minimum. Orders placed by noon Central time ship the same business day, and later orders ship the next business day, usually by UPS Ground. We ship to the lower 48 states and Washington, D.C.
